When Can You Find Out The Gender Of The Baby
I'm sure that as a parent ( or for those who are soon-to-be parent ) are eager and can't wait to know when can you find out the gender of the baby! You must be thinking whether you should get a dress or a shirt? Getting the room pink or blue? What should you name the baby?
The fastest you can find out is through preimplantation genetic diagnosis ( PGD ) whereby a cell is removed from the embryo a few days after being conceived through in vitro fertilization ( IVF ). Most of the time, PGD is used to test for inheritable disease though it can be used to find out the gender of the baby too.
Next will be the chorionic villus sampling ( CVS ) which can be done during the 10-12 weeks of pregnancy which takes the placental tissue to test for chromosomal or genetic disorder.
Around week 15, amniocentesis or amniotic fluid test ( AFT ) can be done. AFT is done by taking a small amount of amniotic fluid and then being tested for their DNA. Take note that taking this test early can injure the baby's limbs
Last but not least, the most popular choices among parents - ultrasonography ( or ultrasound ). Ultrasound is an ultrasound based diagnostic imaging technique used to visualize subcutaneous body structures. So when can you find out the gender of the baby with this? It's normally done by week 17-20 though there are some rough estimation can be made by week 12-13.
Reminder : The safest of all these test would be the ultrasound. The other tests might bring some effects to the baby. Please continue with caution and know the risks before performing those tests.
Now that you know when you can find out the gender of the baby, it's time to shop those clothings and start decorating the room!
